Woolda Product Care
Wool Pillow Care
Your wool pillow is designed with a convenient zipper that allows you to adjust the filling to your liking. However, please note that the pillow cannot be washed with the filling inside. If cleaning becomes necessary, carefully remove the filling, close the zipper, and wash the pillowcase in a washing machine at 30⁰ without using the spinner function to prevent shrinkage. The pillowcase can be ironed but should not be bleached or tumble dried.
It’s important to note that wool acts as a natural barrier against bacteria, fungi, and mites, so washing the wool itself is not necessary. However, if needed, you can gently hand wash the wool with cold water and a small amount of wool detergent. If necessary, you can also manually fluff the wool fill with your hands. Disinfection options include placing it in direct sunlight and fresh air if possible or positioning it near a stove, fireplace, or similar heat source.
Please be aware that during the initial months of use, the wool fill may compress by approximately 10-15% due to natural processes. Therefore, the wool pillow is initially filled to its maximum extent and the product can be above announced dimensions. You can utilize the zipper to adjust the filling to your preferred level of firmness. If the wool fill compresses over time, additional fresh wool can be added.
Remember to always use the pillow with a pillowcase. If you prefer, you can also use the wool pillow with the optional removable and washable cover, which can be washed at 30⁰ without using the spinner function to prevent shrinkage.
Wool Mattress Protector/Puddle Pad Care
To properly care for your wool mattress protector/baby puddle pad, follow these instructions.
Machine wash the mattress protector using a wool program and a low temperature setting (up to 30⁰). Use a wool detergent and avoid using the spinner function to prevent damage. For ironing, use a wool program (excluding the straps). Avoid bleaching, dry cleaning, or tumble drying the mattress protector.
To maintain its waterproof property of the puddle pad, it is necessary to perform treatment by soaking the protector in lukewarm water with dissolved lanolin overnight after each wash. Detailed instructions for the lanolin treatment can be found in the product care card included with your purchase.
Remember to use the mattress protector under sheets (one or two layers according to your individual needs).
Wool Stuffing and Fabric Care
To maintain your wool stuffing, it’s important to note that wool acts as a natural barrier against bacteria, fungi, and mites, so washing the wool itself is not usually necessary. However, if needed, you can gently hand wash the wool stuffing with cold water and a small amount of wool detergent. If necessary, you can also manually fluff the wool fill with your hands. Disinfection options include placing it in direct sunlight and fresh air if possible or positioning it near a stove, fireplace, or similar heat source.
To properly care for your wool fabric, please follow these instructions. Machine wash the wool fabric using a wool program and a low temperature setting (up to 30⁰). Use a wool detergent and avoid using the spinner function to prevent damage. For ironing, use a wool program (excluding the straps). Avoid bleaching, dry cleaning, or tumble drying the mattress protector.
Merino Wool Blanket care
To properly care for your Merino Wool Blanket, follow these instructions.
Wash the blanket in a washing machine using the wool program and a low temperature setting (up to 30⁰). It’s important to use wool detergent specifically designed for woolen items. Avoid using the spinner function during the wash.
If needed, you can iron the wool blanket using a wool program on your iron. However, avoid bleaching, dry cleaning, or tumble drying the blanket, as these can cause damage to the wool fibers.
Mattress Topper Care
To properly care for your wool mattress topper, please follow these guidelines.
Do not wash the wool mattress topper along with the filling. It is recommended to avoid washing the entire mattress topper. For disinfection, you can expose the top mattress to sunlight and fresh air. Alternatively, you can place it near a stove, fireplace, or similar heat source.
If you need to clean the cover, do so topically using a natural detergent and cold water, taking care to protect the wool. Avoid wetting the entire mattress. If necessary, you can clean the wool filling separately. Remove the wool from the mattress, wash it in cold water with a mild wool detergent, allow it to dry completely, and then return it to the mattress. If possible, allow the mattress to breathe for about an hour in the morning before making the bed. This helps in maintaining its freshness.
It’s important to note that the wool filling naturally compresses by approximately 10-15% during the first few months of use due to natural processes. Therefore, your wool mattress topper is initially filled to its maximum capacity and its dimensions can be higher than the announced for the particular product. To ensure a uniform compression rate across the entire surface, rotate the mattress topper every week during the initial months of use. Refer to the instructions provided in the product card. If you still notice uneven compression of the wool, you can adjust the filling through the zippers provided for customization.
